多伦多市长竞选人唐炜臻：应该与中国合作，而不是对抗

（《加拿大和世界报道》多伦多消息）2023年4月11日，加拿大华人金融企业家、前知名对冲基金经理、司法诉讼人员和反腐斗士，全球知名书籍《我的巴菲特财富之路》，英文版《华人巴菲特》的作者唐炜臻正式宣布参加多伦多市长选举。

唐炜臻宣称自己是这次多伦多市长竞选注册候选人中最好的人选，因为他坚信政府必须为人民服务，中国已经是世界第二大经济体，这可以帮助拯救世界。唐炜臻说，加拿大目前的政治路线走错了，应该与中国合作，而不是与之对抗，这样才能使人民不受苦难。中国从未是我们的敌人，而是一个与我们合作的优秀伙伴，是全球经济的引擎。

此外，唐炜臻认为，当前的西方金融和法律体系未能为人民和公众服务好，需要改变，他相信凭借自己的能力、知识和33年的独特经验，他是唯一一个有能力解决多伦多面临的问题的候选人，例如安全问题、市政交通堵塞和粮食银行危机。

唐炜臻认为凭借他的远见卓识、知识和经验，他早已准备好为多伦多的公众和居民服务。

曾于2010年9月第一次参加有41位候选人参与的多伦多市长竞选，当时他仍官司缠身，他的竞选结果排名第20位。今年是他第二次参加市长竞选。

唐炜臻简介：

1958年出生，湖南衡阳人；
1987年公派去美国俄亥俄州立大学生物化学系做访问学者，1988年学成回国；
1990-1992年，在加拿大滑铁卢大学生物系攻读硕士研究生；
1993-1995年，任职于多伦多总医院和儿童医院，从事人类遗传病蛋白质生物化学研究；
1995-1997年，开始为同事和朋友代理互惠基金投资，一开始实行不赚钱不收费；
1997年在多伦多创立唐炜臻投资与信息咨询公司，主要业务是私募基金及对冲基金的管理。

唐炜臻为人正直，热心公益事业，爱国爱乡，也热爱祖籍国，通过大型活动组织加拿大侨胞为汶川大地震和湖南洪水灾区捐款。荣获2008年中华十大财智人物最佳诚信奖，被媒体称为“华人巴菲特”，成功预测美国房地产经济危机，给华人投资界带来了革命性的影响，是世界金融领域具有标志性的“中国符号”，也是海外华人中财智人物的典型代表。

加拿大投资与财富专家，巴菲特专家，曾任加中企业家协会理事长、加中生物医药科技发展协会联席理事长，加拿大湖南同乡会主要发起人之一、创会副会长；连续三年E-trade Canada顾问；北京密云县经济高级顾问；中国商业联合会举办的“05/06”华裔经济领袖影响力论坛暨区域经济合作洽谈组委会副主席；首届北美华人财富论坛多伦多峰会（2006年2月18日）主席团主席。

唐炜臻金融集团因涉嫌违规被暂停证券交易资格，2009年6月，加拿大安大略省证券委员会以证券诈骗、无牌交易、夸大投资回报等12项罪名正式对唐炜臻及其所属两家公司提起指控，后被警方刑事指控。

2013年2月，唐炜臻的刑事罪名在没有辩护律师，没有辩护财务、投资专家和辩方证人的情况被判成立，入狱6年，违反安省证券法12项控罪则继续进行聆讯。2013年8月22日，安省证监会撤销对他的12项指控。

唐炜臻表示，证监会一直都没有发现自己诈骗的证据，而自己的刑事罪之所以被判成立，有相当部分证据来自证监会的聆讯，可以说证监会的指控是刑事罪的基础。唐炜臻至今坚称清白无罪，认为自己坐了冤狱。
