2024 Hainan China-Japan Cooperation Forum and Japanese Product Fair Held in Haikou

Haikou, Hainan, China, November 27, 2024 – Shaoren Gou, World Chinese Media –As the sea breeze gently blows and the warm winter sun bathes Hainan Island, the bridge of Sino-Japanese cooperation extends once again. From November 26 to 27, 2024, the Hainan Sino-Japanese International Business Cooperation and Development Forum and the First Hainan Specialized Japanese Product Buyers’ Conference were held at the Jinmao Yunhai Bay IBC Industrial Park in Jiangdong New Area, Haikou. This grand event not only provided a platform for in-depth interaction between Chinese and Japanese enterprises but also injected fresh, robust international energy into the development of Hainan Free Trade Port.

On the first day, the IBC Industrial Park in Jinmao Yunhai Bay was bustling with activity as the grand opening ceremony took place. Entrepreneurs, government officials, and industry experts from both countries gathered to witness this historic moment.

In his opening speech, Wang Baocheng, President of the Hainan Cross-border E-commerce Association, stated:

This forum is not only a new starting point for Sino-Japanese economic cooperation but also a significant practice in linking the Hainan Free Trade Port to international markets.”

Nobutaka Seki, a director of the Japan-China Talent and Business Exchange Association, highlighted the potential of the Hainan Free Trade Port, which has attracted numerous Japanese small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The products showcased by Japan covered diverse fields such as healthcare, beauty, food, beverages, and traditional crafts. He expressed hope that the conference would efficiently introduce high-quality Japanese goods to the Chinese market and foster new collaborative opportunities.

One of the event’s highlights was the Japanese Product Pavilion, which drew much attention. This modern exhibition hall displayed over 300 carefully curated products from across Japan, including century-old sake, handcrafted traditional artifacts, and popular beauty and skincare products. The venue was bustling with merchants and consumers eager to explore the offerings.

Mai Morita, a representative of a Japanese local sake brewery, proudly stated:
“Our sake boasts over a century of brewing history, with each drop embodying the essence of nature and craftsmanship. We hope Chinese consumers will appreciate the unique charm of Japanese sake.”

Meanwhile, Yun Shangrong, President of Yuncheng International, a prominent Chinese beauty industry enterprise, engaged in initial talks with several Japanese beauty and skincare companies. She expressed her aspiration for Chinese skincare products, particularly those made from natural and herbal ingredients, to gain a foothold in the Japanese market in the future.

The second day of the event featured the Sino-Japanese Business Cooperation Development Forum, which provided a platform for enterprises to engage in in-depth discussions. E-commerce experts and industry leaders from both nations explored topics such as future trends in cross-border e-commerce and collaborative supply chain development. Companies like SF International and China Merchants Bank shared innovative solutions in logistics and finance.

Driven by policies and technology, the Hainan Free Trade Port has caught the attention of numerous overseas enterprises through its trade facilitation mechanisms. Experts believe that Sino-Japanese cooperation in cross-border e-commerce will extend beyond product circulation to achieve deep integration in technology and services.

On the final evening, the Hainan Beauty Industry Association held a networking event inside the Japanese Product Pavilion. Since its founding in 2015, the association has been dedicated to aligning with international standards and strengthening external cooperation to contribute to the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Industry representatives from China and Japan shared their visions of cooperation. Japanese beauty brands such as STRI, Coeur Joli, Smily Method, and Createion expressed optimism about collaboration opportunities with Hainan. The event showcased the essence of Japan’s beauty and haircare products while building a cultural bridge between the industries of both nations.
