The 6th (2025) World President’s Conference Opens in Beijing

Daily Extreme Beijing. As a high-level global dialogue platform spanning more than 100 countries and regions and connecting over 5,000 international chambers of commerce and industry associations, this year’s Conference is jointly hosted by multiple foreign embassies in China and supported by the China
International Public Relations Association. Under the theme “AI-Driven Digital Empowerment for Green Development and Building a Sustainable Future Together”, the Conference brings together former foreign heads of state, diplomatic envoys to China, presidents of business associations from home and abroad, and leading entrepreneurs.
Through a hybrid format linking the Beijing main venue with 13 overseas sub-venues in the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries, as well as 20 domestic sub-venues including Hong Kong, Macao, Shanghai, Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Fujian, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Henan, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Xiamen, and Shijiazhuang, more than 2,000 representatives convened online and offline to inject intellectual momentum into the implementation of the four major global initiatives.

Since its launch in Hangzhou in 2020, the World President’s Conference has accumulated five years of development, evolving from a regional dialogue platform into a global bridge for cooperation, with more than 3 million participants reached through online and offline engagement. While continuing its core mission of promoting global cooperation and conveying development consensus, this year’s Conference places a stronger focus on the deep integration of digital intelligence technologies and green development, highlighting its forward-looking strategic significance in the new era.
High-Level Gathering to Discuss a Sustainable Future
Vicente Fox Quesada, former President of Mexico, participated online and noted in his video address that the theme of this Conference carries profound significance. He emphasized that green transformation has become a central driving force for global sustainable development and praised China’s remarkable achievements in this field.
Ms. Cecilia Chirita, Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the People’s Republic of China, delivered a speech on behalf of the co-hosts, stressing that digitally empowered green development is a shared pursuit that transcends national borders and expressing hope that the Conference would serve as a catalyst for deeper and more pragmatic multilateral cooperation.

In his address, Liu Jiang, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the World President’s Conference and Executive President of the Hangzhou Public Relations Association, reviewed the Conference’s development journey from Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpur and now to Beijing. He stated that hosting the sixth edition in Beijing not only leverages the capital’s role as an international exchange hub, but also provides a timely response to the era-defining theme of “AI-driven digital intelligence plus green development.” He expressed the hope that enhanced collaboration among global social organizations would promote cross-border flows of green technologies, materials, and capital.

Dr. Zhang Jing’an, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, delivered a keynote speech titled “Innovation-driven Development, Working Together to Create a Shared Future.” From the perspective of technological empowerment, he analyzed pathways for global green transformation and called on countries to establish technology-sharing platforms so that innovation outcomes can benefit a wider range of nations and regions.

At the opening ceremony, Ling Danhong, President of the Australian Women Entrepreneurs Association, together with 14 other presidents of global business associations, jointly read the “2025 Global Social Organization Green Development White Paper” in the presence of several diplomats stationed in China. Centered on technological collaboration, industrial synergy, and resource sharing, the initiative seeks to consolidate global consensus on sustainable development.

Multi-Dimensional Dialogues Decoding Digital–Green Integration
The thematic forum was chaired by Dr. Zhang Li, Associate Dean and Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University. Experts from government, industry, academia, and research institutions engaged in in-depth discussions across four major topics. Through a combination of expert interpretation and case sharing, the forum presented solutions that were both forward-looking and practically applicable.
Ma Shengrong, former Vice President and Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency and former Vice President of the China International Public Relations Association, explored communication and green development in digitally empowered environments from a media and communication perspective.
Dr. Charles Lassere Yakite, Economic Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Central African Republic in China, introduced his country’s ecological conditions and cooperation needs.
Chen Wenling, former Director of the Comprehensive Department at the Research Office of the State Council and former Chief Economist of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, delivered an in-depth presentation on AI-driven digital empowerment in green urban development.
Liu Zhiwei, General Manager of Hangzhou Linjiang Environmental Energy Co., Ltd., shared practical achievements in the application of digital intelligence to waste ecological treatment.
During the interactive session, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as AI-driven digital intelligence and green development, generating sparks of collaboration.

Pragmatic Connectivity Activating Borderless Cooperation
At the Conference venue, the signing ceremony marked a key milestone in pragmatic cooperation. The Hangzhou Public Relations Association and Sunshine TV of Hong Kong signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement to jointly build the World President’s Conference, signaling a new phase in the enhancement of the Conference’s media outreach and international influence.
Meanwhile, a series of project agreements and cooperation frameworks covering green energy technology collaboration, cross-border trade, and digital intelligence industry matchmaking were signed or reached. Participants included enterprises and business associations from China, Moldova, the Central African Republic, Kenya, Malaysia, Germany, Spain, and other countries, injecting tangible vitality into the integration of global industrial and supply chains.

At the 2025 Global Diplomats & World Presidents Gala Dinner held in the evening, guests from around the world gathered to enjoy culturally rich performances such as The Grace of Operatic Dance and Wing Chun. The Conference was jointly organized by the Inner Mongolia Public Relations Association, Guizhou International and Domestic Public Relations Association, Jiangxi Public Relations Association, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and Macao Chinese Arts and Cultural Exchange Promotion Association.
